Dmitry Samorukov took part in the second round of the European Drag Racing Championship

SMP Racing driver Dmitry Samorukov participated in the second round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, which took place on June 8-9 at Tierp Arena in Sweden.

Dmitry represents the SMP Racing team and competes in the Pro Modified class, driving the Pro Modified car, styled as a Chevrolet Camaro 1968. The MaxRide Motorsport team (Russia) led by Swedish engineer Adam Flemholz maintains the 4000 HP car.

At the second round of the FIA ​​EDRC, Dmitry Samorukov drove three qualifying attempts. He was classified 12th, driving the distance of 1/4 mile in 6.152 seconds at a speed of 370 km / h. In 1/8 final races Samorukov made a false start and couldn’t fight for a win further according to the rules of the competition.

“The main result of the second round is that the car drove smoothly, steadily and demonstrated its great potential,” Dmitry Samorukov said. “In the qualifying sessions, we managed to show a very good time of 6.152 seconds. For comparison, it is 0.2 seconds faster than the Russian record, which we set last year in Grozny. The cars in the FIA ​​European Drag Racing Championship are very complex, fast, but at the same time allow you to reach a new level. In the next rounds, we have the task to continue to use the potential of the car, to improve the results and regularly get to the final."

The third round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship will take place on July 6-7 in Finland.
