SMP Racing junior driver Irina Sidorkova participated in the fourth round of the F4 Spanish Championship, which took place on June 22-23 at the Circuit de Valencia Ricardo Tormo (Spain).

The race weekend was not easy for Irina. The Russian had to adapt to an unfamiliar track in a short time and difficult weather conditions played a big role as well. In the two qualifying sessions, Sidorkova was classified 15 and 14, respectively.

“I can say that this is not the best weekend in my junior formula career,” SMP Racing junior driver Irina Sidorkova said. “The air temperature was high, I’ve experienced this hot weather for the first time, so not everything worked out as I wanted. It was hard enough for me to get pace and speed, I had to work more because the track is very technical, short, there are a lot of difficult turns there. In the first two races, my main goal was to keep pace and not forget about the tyres. From the start of the third race I managed to gain some positons. But later, due to the contact with my rival, my car got damaged and I lost my positions. The next round will be only after the summer break, and in the next two months I will be preparing to show good results.”

The fifth round of the F4 Spanish Championship will take place on 14-15 September at the circuit in Jerez (Spain).
