Oleg Petrikov, head of the SMP RCRS: “We are very pleased to be able to become part of the big motorsport festival, which will take place at the magnificent Igora Drive circuit in the end of May 2020. The return of the Russian round to the calendar of the DTM series is a significant event for all motorsport fans. It’s an honor to open a new track near St. Petersburg together with the drivers of the international championship.
Under the auspices of the Russian motorsport development program SMP Racing, which, since 2014, has been a promoter of the Russian Circuit Races, the SMP RCRS has become one of the leading national tournaments. Due to the level of participants, organization of competitions and the popularity of the SMP RCRS, we were able to attract the attention of the organizers of international championships.
Thanks to the leaders of the ITR company - the promoter of the DTM series - the administration of the Igora Drive circuit and the organizers of the Russian round for the opportunity to spend this racing weekend together. I’m sure that the participants of the SMP RCRS will offer spectators great races and will enjoy driving the new circuit.”
