The Shanghai International Circuit was built specially for hosting Formula-1. It was opened in 2004, and at the present moment other world racing series are held there. The circuit is known for its elegant combination of the traditional Chinese culture and modern technologies.

Peculiarity: configuration of the racing track has been originally designed as the Chinese “shan” character, one of the meanings of which is “the best”.
