“In the Sunday qualifying round, we were a little unlucky with yellow flags in the last sector of the last lap,” SMP Racing driver Alexander Smolyar said. “I could have got a good result, but, unfortunately, it didn’t work out and had to start from sixth position. The race, of course, was not as successful as on Saturday. I managed to gain two positions but I did not have enough pace and could not get to the podium. But we scored points, and compared with the round in Belgium, it turned out to be a good weekend. I managed to win back important points from my rivals that were higher in the drivers’ standings. Therefore, despite the fact that it was not possible to win the race, in general, everything went well and positively. We are ready to fight further.”

The seventh round of the Formula Renault Eurocup will take place on September 7-8 in Hungary at the Hungaroring circuit.
