SMP Racing driver Vitaly Petrov will participate in the rally on March 2 in the Republic of Karelia.
Vitaly will drive the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 9 car, announced by SMP Racing and prepared by the PRO-Sport Rally team. Petrov and his co-drover Dmitry Yakovchenko, with whom they have already drove two previous races, will perform under the starting number 1.Competition is the sixth round of the Russian Rally Cup. The snow-ice track is located in the vicinity of Lakhdenpokhja and consists of two sections with a total length of 307 kilometers, 85 of which are the distance of eight special stages.
“I am very glad that I can get back behind the wheel of a rally car,” SMP Racing driver Vitaly Petrov said. “Rally Yakkima will be the last winter round for us in the season. Unfortunately, at the previous two rounds we had problems with the car, and I hope, this time, luck will be on our side again. Everything is fine - a great team, a good car, we are in a great mood. We look forward to driving on Saturday. The route has the same way as at the rally Karelia, but with the reversed direction of movement on the special stages. This changes the track a lot and makes it even more interesting to compete.
