Russian SMP Racing team's BR01 prototype on the streets of St. Petersburg

On June 7, the Festival of Speed ​​will take place for the first time in the northern capital of Russia, where SMP Racing drivers Viktor Shaitar and Robert Shwartzman will drive along the city streets.

The joyful sports festival will include a parade of numerous racing cars around the historical sights of St. Petersburg. Viktor Shaitar, the World Champion of endurance racing in 2015, multiple winner of the European Le Mans Series, will drive the first Russian sport prototype BR01, while Robert Shwartzman, the bronze medalist and the best newcomer of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, will be behind the wheel of the Formula Renault 2.0 car.

Spectators of the event will have an opportunity to see other famous drivers and racing vehicles: the KAMAZ-master team, Dakar's multiple winners; the strongest RDS GP drift drivers, as well as rally, rally-raid and circuit racing cars, participants of the Beijing-St. Petersburg motorcycle race, alongside vintage and unique racing cars.

Racing cars will be later exhibited at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum at the ExpoForum.

SMP Racing driver Viktor Shaitar: “This is an amazing opportunity to drive our Russian sport prototype on the historical streets of St. Petersburg. Especially for this event, we brought a real racing car - the first Russian sport prototype BR01, which more than once was on the podium of the World Endurance Championship.”

On June 7, from 21:00, there will be a free zone for a chat with participants of the Speed ​​Festival in front of the Monument to Sergey Kirov at Gazprom Arena. Later, the organized column will head towards The Old Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Palace Square and the Field of Mars. The event will end at 2:30 am near the Bronze Horseman on Senate Square.
